Stay with Moyra
Moyra has been welcoming guests to Waitaha Villa for ten years, and it shows. Ask her anything about the area, and she'll know it. Evening meals are available on request, or there's a BBQ if you'd rather cook your own. In winter, guests can cosy up around the fire; or in summer, outside under the stars. It's the kind of place where an evening with Moyra becomes part of the stay, not just the accommodation around it.
“Had a lovely stay at Moyra's. The house is amazing, from the 1880s and beautifully decorated. It also has views of Taranaki Maunga and lovely gardens including a river with eels. It's a few mins drive to Cape Egmont Lighthouse - we were treated to a stunning sunset there. Moyra also gave us great recommendations for things to do in the area and served a beautiful breakfast. Recommended!!”

The Garden View Room - Self-contained
A very large room with a double bed, ideal for guests after a bit more independence, or looking to treat themselves. Self-contained, with its own bathroom, outdoor access, and a well-stocked nook with tea and coffee, a small fridge, and a TV, more like a private retreat than a shared guest room. Priced slightly higher to reflect the added privacy and extras.
The Mountain View Room
The pick of the rooms. A roomy queen room with an ensuite bathroom, which also opens to the hallway. Enjoys a full, uninterrupted view of the Mountain when it's out. Closest room to the car park.
The Mountain River Room
A cosy room with a double bed and a beautiful view of the mountain and Waitaha River. Has a bathroom just outside the room; private when the villa isn't fully booked and shared when all rooms are in use.
The Bunk Room
A bunk bed (double on the bottom, single on top) plus an additional single bed. Perfect accommodation for a family or small group. Uses the shared bathroom.
